[Things we like, from artists on their way to L.A.:]
Telekinesis, “Car Crash.” Maybe we raised an eyebrow when Michael Benjamin Lerner and crew covered Justin Bieber live back in December, but their new album “12 Desperate Straight Lines” (out Tuesday on Merge) puts to rest any notion of a sophomore slump from the Seattle rockers. Chunky, catchy, beat-driven power-pop, just the way we like it. (Feb. 24 at the Echo.)

L.A.’s own Becky Stark makes a cameo on the album too. (March 20 at the Echo.)

Their album “Let me Come Home” came out in January on 4AD, and they’re embarking on their first U.S. tour. (March 6 at the Satellite.)

Every one a winner.
