In celebration of their seventh studio album “Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will,” which is just out today on Sub Pop, Scottish post-rockers Mogwai have released another video for the track, “Mexican Grand Prix.” Despite the song title, the clip’s locale is nowhere near Mexico but rather in the band’s native city of Glasgow. Directed by Danny McConnell, the video isn’t as serene as the visuals that accompanied “How to Be a Werewolf,” nor is it as psychotropic as the clip for “Rano Pano” (also directed by McConnell). However, the kaleidoscopic faces of Glaswegians that flash by with the city’s urban landscape serving as a backdrop all manages to provide a certain hypnotism.
