L.A. dream-pop quartet Superhumanoids has come a long way from Cameron Parkins’ solo bedroom project and the group, which also includes Sarah Chernoff, Max St. John and Evan Weinerman, continues to push all the right buttons on “Parasite Paradise.” The four-song EP follow up to their well-received “Urgency” EP is slated for a digital release on March 8 via Hit City USA, and the lead single “Malta” once again showcases Superhumanoids’ strengths. A whirl of boy-girl harmonies, synth riffs and frenetic drumming all come together for a sparkling indie-pop dance tune that balances electronica and garage rock. Parkins’ vocals particularly stand out this time around as his Antony Johnson-on-the-verge-of-Morrissey delivery soars from a melancholic start to a bold finish.
