[New tunes from three artists about whom we’ve blogged recently …]
Active Child, “Hanging On” (via Adult Swim) – The debut album from Pat Grossi, “You Are All I See,” is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated releases of the second half of 2011, and songs like the aching, dreamy “Hanging On” are the reason. Active Child has the Echo residency in August; the album is out Aug. 23; and buzz mounts. [See also: “Playing House.”]

Still wrapping up work on their debut “Healthy Geometry,” singer Steven Wilkin and pals offer up this rip-roaring number that does everything but launch itself into outer space. Vanaprasta plays Aug. 27 at Sunset Junction. [See also: “G-“]

Irvin Dally, “Sun Room” – The latest from the L.A.-based folk troubadour is a woozy and wonderful lament that, like much of his material, shuns predictable structure in favor in favor of what can only be described as an emotional diagram – “Sun Room” goes where his tale takes it, twinkling all the way. Dally performs Thursday night at the Hotel Cafe. [See also: “Salt Water”]
