All over the map tonight:
‣ Spindrift, L.A.’s singular purveyor of spaghetti Western psychedelia, celebrate the release of their new album “Classic Soundtracks Vol. 1” at the Echoplex, supported by the Icarus Line and the Gram Rabbit side project the Country. The videos and trailers for the music on Spindrift’s new collection – all collaborations with noted filmmakers – have been premiering on IFC.com (and will be screened tonight). The latest, the Ed Wood Jr. homage “Theme From Ghost Patrol” (above), is the work of directors Jean Balest and Sam Barnett.
‣ Band of Horses holds forth at the Wiltern behind their latest release “Infinite Arms.”
‣ The Jim Jones Revue brings its storm of retro-blues to the Echo, riding high on the acclaim being heaped upon the quintet’s new album “Burning Your House Down.”
‣ Some of L.A.’s best hard stuff at the Viper Room, where Dead Sara kicks off a residency and Sabrosa Purr is also on board.
‣ And ’50s revivalists the Hopeless Devoted [see Tuesday’s post] headline the Troubadour.
