Video: Margaret Cho, ‘Baby I’m With the Band’ (plus, details on Sunday’s benefit at Largo)

Groupies, this laugh is on you. Margaret Cho’s video for “Baby I’m With the Band” (from her comedy music album “Cho Dependent”) was made at this year’s Bonnaroo 2010, where she romped with rock luminaries too numerous to mention. (Check out the look on Brendan Benson’s face at 1:15.) It’s posted here not just because we need a Friday morning chuckle, but because Cho, along with singer-songwriter Grant-Lee Phillips, is co-emceeing a big benefit show on Sunday at Largo. “A Concert to Benefit School Music Revival,” hosted by the Section Quartet, will raise funds for instruments and equipment lost in the devastation wreaked by the earthquake and tsunami in the Fukushima region of Japan. It’s the brainchild of the Section Quartet’s Eric Gorfain, who lived in Japan for four years and has made many musical trips back there. And the roster of guest performers is formidable: Sam Phillips, Van Dyke Parks, Linda Perry, Mike Watt, Murry Hammond, Lisa Germano, Wendy & Lisa, Def Leppard’s Vivian Campbell, Failure’s Ken Andrews and Kellii Scott, Matt Sharp, Jenny O and Grey DeLisle are all scheduled to perform with the Section Quartet as the house band.

Corrected
That was def. not this year’s Gonnaroo kevy… get your facts straight slick. God I despise you.
Thanks for the catch, Lord. It’s been corrected.
And why is it the people who despise me never use their real name? Deep thoughts about cowardice for a Friday afternoon.
