There has been movement since Robert DeLong released his DIY album “Just Movement” earlier this year – artistic growth, and plenty of it. The up-and-coming electro-pop maestro, now working out of a pro studio with an experienced team, is re-shaping the album and adding new material inspired by his continuing explorations in rock, pop and EDM. It’s all part, DeLong says, “of saturating myself in electronic music culture by going to events and studying new artists, and then combining my glitch-art sensibilities with the arrangement approaches and soundscapes of dance music.” The new, “redesigned and futurized” album will be out in 2012, just in time to ride the wave of buzz his recent live shows have created. As DeLong’s new radio single “Happy” suggests, he can’t wait to get the party started.
