Video: Noah and the MegaFauna, ‘Liquid Modernity (You Can Never Go Home)’

Noah Lit’s left turn from indie rock to gypsy jazz surprised no one who knows the former frontman of Oliver Future – even at the expense of immediacy, his rock band’s music had an edgy sophistication that made it anything but a casual listen. His new project Noah and the MegaFauna sets biting, new-world themes to old-school instrumentation. The sharp video for “Liquid Modernity (You Can Never Go Home),” directed by Travis Knight with production design by Michael Garza, is “a story about the stupidity of never-ending greed,” Lit told KCRW.com, where it premiered. “Our villain, Saxman Gold (played by Daniel Stessen), consumes and consumes until he can’t even get up to help himself.” It’s an eyeful and an earful. The song is off the MegaFauna’s debut “Anthems for a Stateless Nation.”
