Video: Gliss, ‘Weight of Love’

The first two albums from L.A. trio Gliss tread in the footsteps of some of rock’s great shoegazing bands, taking their sometimes-inscrutable wall of sound and ladling on a thick coat of danger and angst. Martin Klingman, Victoria Cecilia and David Reiss had hinted that the follow-up to 2009’s “Devotion Implosion” would be different, and judging from the first single “Weight of Love,” they have traded earth for water. The dreamy track, captured beautifully in director Paul Boyd’s video, would be more aptly titled “Weightlessness of Love” – we’ve all had that feeling, right? Gliss’ new album is titled “Langsom Dans,” and it was mixed by producer (and Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross studio compatriot) Michael Patterson. No release date yet, but here’s hoping that one floats our way shortly.
I have loved this band for a while now…and I’m so stoked to hear from them again. Thank you for this!
