To fans of post-punk revivalists Elefant, frontman Diego Garcia’s solo debut must have been a revelation. Elefant emerged early last decade with an undeniable single or two (most notably “Misfit”), toting a Smiths-inspired sound that – along with the Argentine-American frontman’s hunky good looks – suited Morrissey fans like a black T-shirt. By the time Elefant had released two albums and tried to muster energy for a third, Garcia was ready to move on. His solo album “Laura,” released last year, frames the songwriter’s romantic inclinations in a different way, his croon carrying over ornate orchestrations throughout the paean to the woman to whom he is now married. Ladies, you can exhale now.
