Video: Races, ‘Lies’ Kevin Bronson on June 25th, 2012 Share this:TweetEmail 0 Indie sextet Races’ first video, for their single “Big Broom,” was great fun, with balloons, confetti and little in the way of collateral damage. “Lies” is another story, as lies often are. With director Edward Chase Masterson again at the helm, the video imagines frontman Wade Ryff as a despised figure running from his egregious sins, not to mention those who get piece of him in retribution. Both the setting (“the suburbs most of us grew up in,” the band says) and the song make for plenty of food for thought. The band’s debut “Year of the Witch” is out on Frenchkiss Records. ||| Live: Races headline the Troubadour on July 6, supported by Gliss and Lili Haydn. ||| Previously: An interview with Races and “Big Broom.” Related
