The title track of L.A. trio Lady Danville’s “Operating” EP [premiered way back when] is an old-school pop gem – gooey-in-a-good-way melody and florid harmonies on a simple backdrop of instrumentation. In the hands of San Francisco producer/DJ Branded James (aka Brandon Whittaker), it becomes a sparkling electro track. Remixes hardly ever accomplish this, but I think it’s better than the original.

Still 0 for 1217 in the remixes vs original department for me.
Considering that the band of my heart (U2) can’t even produce a remix that I prefer over their originals (and honestly a U2 song has never had any business being remixed) I pretty much knew that this would fall flat on me but I wanted to give it an honest try.
