Dinosaur Jr, “Pierce the Morning Rain” – The trio releases another single off of their 10th studio album, “I Bet on Sky ” (out now on Jagjaguwar). Following up “Watch the Corners,” the new single “Pierce the Morning Rain” is short and sweet and charges from the second it starts. Raucous blends of percussion and guitar solos make it another winner from these indie-rock heroes. J Mascis and crew return to SoCal Oct. 9 for a show at the Observatory.
Savoir Adore, “Regalia” – The Brooklyn gets a little dance floor-fever with “Regalia,” but the single doesn’t stray too far from their dreamy foundation. Instead of writing lyrics and melodies that tell the story from a distance as they did in the past, songs like “Dreamers” and “Regalia” on “Our Nature” (slated for an Oct. 16 on Red Eye and Popular Recordings) zoom in on these fantasy-based soundscapes. Savoir Adore plays the Echo on Thursday.
Dustin Wong, “Japan” – Dustin Wong may have currently decided to reside in the same place this new track is is titled after, but the followers dedicated to the virtuoso guitarist still hold strong over here in the U.S. In preparation for his current tour with Beach House (including tonight at the Wiltern), Wong releases “Japan,” a soothing song composed entirely of guitar loops for Stadiums and Shrines.
