Back in April, we were smitten by the pop chops of brothers Ryan and Taylor Lawhon, formerly of White Apple Tree, who had migrated to a project known as KO KO. There have been developments. The Lawhons are now going by the name Pacific Air, and if that sounds something akin to flying, that might be the case too. They’ve finished their debut EP “Long Live KO KO,” and it will be released Oct. 16 on Republic Records. The single that we posted back in April, “Float” (out now digitally), has been re-recorded, and it will be released as a 7-inch via Barsuk Records next month as well, along with a Ra Ra Riot remix of the song. Not that we’re over it – “Float” is every bit as buoyant as it was in the spring.
