Stream: Incan Abraham, ‘Springhouse’

When we introduced Incan Abraham back in February 2011, the psych-pop quartet’s meticulous rhythms and tropical melodies were giving off vibes akin to Local Natives and Animal Collective. Their latest single “Springhouse” still boasts an experimental sun-kissed chorus, but the layers have thickened and vocals have flourished into darker, smoother tones since then. The new song recalls the lushness of Grizzly Bear in its intricate composition and grand melodic arches – two qualities that the L.A. foursome began developing on last year’s “Ancient Vacation” EP. Produced by Niko Bolas (Neil Young, Warren Zevon, Graham Nash), “Springhouse” is available now digitally and will be released on 10-inch vinyl (with “Panama Dry” as the B-side) Nov. 27 via JAXART Records.
