Tucked away with L.A.’s own Haim on BBC’s “Sound of 2013” next-hot-band list is U.K. quartet Peace, a band of early twentysomethings that has drawn comparisons to Foals, Friendly Fires, Vampire Weekend and even some classic rock goliaths, all on the basis of their four-song EP, “Delicious.” It’s flavorful indeed, especially the dusting of West Coast pop that turns up on “California Daze” – “She tastes like sunlight / and she’s always going to be there / in back of your mind,” sings Harrison Koisser, who along with his brother Sam Koisser, Douglas Castle and Dominic Boyce comprise the foursome. The EP, along with the forthcoming single “Wraith,” demonstrates how Peace went from zero to a label deal in a few short months after posting a demo on Soundcloud. It’s kind of a shame they’ll make their L.A. debut in the sonically unfriendly confines of Bardot, but Columbia reportedly signed them after hearing Peace at a house party, so … peace out, we suppose.
