Sixteen-year-old singer-songwriter Alaska Reid is ensconced in Malibu these days, but she filmed her video for “Summer Wind” on a trip back to her native Montana in an area that had recently been ravaged by a wildfire. The Big Sky country topography – and the fact that Mother Nature cooperated by delivering showers and a rainbow – make it a beautiful visual for the song, which appears on “Side of Paradise,” a five-song session recorded live at Swing House Studios. It’s the follow-up to her EP “Powerlines,” a six-song collection that introduced Reid as a young talent with a voice that could darned near make all that vegetation grow back, in one song or less.
