Symbiosis Events has just announced a lineup for September’s Symbiosis Gathering that includes Sound Tribe Sector 9 and Sphongle, the much-anticipated U.S. debut of Iamamiwhoami, smooth electro-pop outfit Poliça, U.K. duo Mount Kimbie, Hudson Mohawke and Lunice of TNGHT, the celestial R&B of Active Child, avant-cabaret troupe Vau de Vire Society and the eclectic bass sounds of Random Rab and Emancipator.
The L.A.-based mad scientists at the Do LaB, fresh off staging Lightning in a Bottle in Temecula in mid-July, are partnering with Symbiosis Events to build the main stage.
The festival, which also features an eccentric assortment of other music, aerial acrobatics, circus acts, offbeat fashion and the “ballroom” dancing that is the Edwardian Ball Roadshow, will be held Sept. 19-23 at the Woodward Reservoir Regional Park in Oakdale, about five hours north of L.A. The five-day camping event features four main stages offering a diverse array of live and electronic music, global and galactic bass, house, gypsy, sacred and world fusion. The gathering coincides with the harvest moon, the autumnal equinox and the International Day of Peace.
Tickets range from two-day passes (with free camping) for $99 to five-day passes (with free camping) for $255. Here’s where to get them. Last year’s festival boasted the likes of James Blake, Beats Antique, PANTyRAiD and Little Dragon. The 2013 lineup, after the jump:
