We’ve been closely following Papa ever since Darren Weiss, Daniel Presant and company released the mega-jam “I Am the Lion King” off their “A Good Woman Is Hard to Find” EP. Their debut full-length “Tender Madness” will be released in less than a week now, but that doesn’t stop the L.A.-based band from releasing one more audio slice as a teaser. “If The Moon Rises” features those distinctive vocals from Weiss again, although three-quarters of the song is a bit more subdued than anything we’ve heard from them. It isn’t until the last two minutes that the track picks up, but the slow repetition of lyrics “Run, honey, run” do indeed relay the message of the song: “A call for young people to get away from the B.S.” as Weiss tells the New York Times. “Tender Madness” is slated for an Oct. 8 release via Loma Vista.

Love this cd, this song, this band, their image. EVERYTHING about this band I love. Saw them in SF and was stunned by how they actually sound like this live.
