Video: Those Darlins, ‘Optimist’

Those Darlins‘ third studio album “Blur the Lines” may be the most low-key in their current catalog, but the fine-tuning they’ve done on their bombastic fusion of garage rock and outlaw country is at their most polished this time around. Songs like “Oh God” features Jessi Darlin in her most ponderous state while other ditties have Nikki Darlin flirtatiously cooing the chorus in “Baby Mae” between guitar licks. None this, however, means the Nashville rockers have been tamed. Their album artwork is a bit controversial and upbeat songs like “Optimist” still carry that rambunctious attitude  Those Darlins have owned so well over the years. “Blur the Lines” is out this week via Those Darlins’ own label Oh Wow Dang Records.
