On his debut album “New Radar” released late last year, Calvin Love proved adept at achieving the “nu-retro” vibe, emerging from behind his bedroom walls with 13 Wall of Sound-like pop numbers that would have felt like a forced production exercise if they weren’t so darned catchy. The native of Edmonton, who relocated to L.A. a few years back to play in an indie-rock band, returns with a new 7-inch this week. “Cool” (b/w “Wild Blue”), which, in 2013’s weird space/time/music continuum, ought to make you nostalgic for things you never experienced.
