Video: Cassorla, ‘I Am’

Cassorla has graduated to music videos that aren’t made entirely in Microsoft Paint, but the songs remain stellar and clever. Those signature guitar effects have stayed in tact for Cassorla’s new single “I Am,” but he’s also recruited Christopher “Crash” Richard (ex-the deadly Syndrome and now of of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros) for lead vocals. As for the Louis Fried-directed clip itself, you’ve got splices of the singers in outdoor cityscapes via split screen. The thick Microsoft colors are replaced by white typography but the lyrics still make their stamp in an off-kilter manner. Catchy and off-kilter is Cassorla’s forte, and even with these technological improvements, it’s nice to see his videos and songs still have that charm. The song is from Cassorla’s forthcoming “Amigo” EP.
