Following up 2010’s “Come What Will,” Patrick Park has finally returned this week with the EP, “We Fall Out of Touch,” via RSRCH + DVLP. That’s the newly-launched label by Dave Trumfio (Wilco, MMJ, Grandaddy, Earlimart), the producer who collaborated with Park on the previous album and 2007’s “Everyone’s In Everyone.” Stripped down and but still rich in melody and warmth, the forthcoming EP’s title track brings longtime fans back to Park’s early solo acoustic days. Written in the middle of the California desert in a cabin without any distractions, the song not only touches on his isolation at the time but also speaks of the “glorification of communication technology.” It’s another introspective tune that will have fans welcoming back Park with open ears.
