Ears Wide Open: Bear Attack

Don’t worry. Bear Attack‘s music sounds nowhere near as vicious as their name. The quintet, comprised of Mia Minichiello, Eric Radloff, Brandon Bae, Nick Campbell and Logan Shrewsbury, seem sweet enough, with their boy-girl folk-pop melodies. Formed during their time together at USC, Bear Attack’s sound can be as cheerful as the title track of their new EP “Broke.” But their pop can also roar with versatility as heard in tunes such as the sultry “Didn’t You?” “Broke” is the follow-up to their debut EP “Shapes,” which was released in 2012. The brief hiatus from the scene, however, has allowed Bear Attack to expand their sonic palette into something not only a little more robust but also a bit more daring in regards to pop music.
