In the first single from their forthcoming full-length debut, Echo Park sextet NO takes a very aw-shucks approach that that which they are doing: “We come together / we fall apart / we make some noise inside a room / and call it art,” Bradley Hanan Carter sings. Of course, in the right hands and the right moments, such noise can be transcendent, and if you abide the spirit of NO’s first single “Leave the Door Wide Open,” it’s all about being open to the possibilities. The song comes from the band’s forthcoming debut “El Prado,” out Feb. 18 via Arts & Crafts. Following up their 2011 EP “Don’t Worry, You’ll Be Here Forever,” Carter and bandmates Sean Daniel Stentz, Reese Richardson, Ryan Lallier, Simon Oscroft and Michael Walker negotiate the murky waters of transient relationships and postmillenial dread with sonic fervor and remarkable optimism. Don’t worry, indeed.
