If you like your pop with a dramatic beat drop, some dark undertones and a smoky vocalist, then Shilo Gold may be the next local act you’ll be requesting on the radio. Shilo Gold is the moniker for vocalist Shayna Goldstein, who has teamed up with Los Angeles producer and guitarist TJ Routon. Together, they’ve released “One Life” as Shilo Gold’s first single and its appeal is slinky enough to make its way up the charts somewhere next to an Alex Clare release. Goldstein’s vocal delivery is seductive yet powerful; it’s a trait she most likely honed during her time at Berklee College of Music. Routon’s work on the single, however, is surprising considering his time spent playing for bands like Seven Story Fall on the Warped Tour circuit. Here’s to seeing what comes next from a pop-punk guitarist and an R&B-pop crooner.
