L.A. trio the Shrine made a big dent in the local scene (and few eardrums) with their 2012 album “Primitive Blast,” which drew equally from a host of “black” bands, most notably Flag and Sabbath. Indeed, the threesome of singer-guitarist Josh Landau, bassist Courtland Murphy and drummer Jeff Murray is not beholden to one strain of heavy music; their skater-friendly bombs are stoner metal on accelerants, with a few pyrotechnics thrown into the fire. Next up for the Shrine is the full-length “Bless Off,” due March 11 on the home of all things stoner, Tee Pee Records. “Nothing Forever” wraps all the trio’s muscle into 5 minutes: lumbering psychedelia, rapid riffs and apocalyptic vocals. Get physical.
