Ears Wide Open: The Galaxy Electric

Members of the Galaxy Electric may look familiar if you’ve been following husband-wife duo Jacqueline Caruso and Augustus Green since they were just Los Angeles transplants by way of Washington D.C., back in 2011. Then, Caruso and Green were known as Thurlow, whose music was elegant electro-pop. Soon after, Caruso and Green started pursuing other projects such as Caruso’s solo project Swan in 2012 and Haunted Summer, for whom Green played bass guitar. Since then, the married musical couple has launched record label Gazelle Recordings, which has released local music by artists such as Historian. Most recently, they’ve welcomed L.A. artist Globelamp to their roster. Although busy, Caruso and Green surprisingly still have time to make music of their own, but the Galaxy Electric is far from the soft melodies of Thurlow. They’ve deemed their new material as “psychedelic glitch-pop” and although a bit more minimal and quirky, the common denominator for all their projects together is Caruso’s graceful vocals. The Galaxy Electric’s members also include jazz musicians Susan Lucia (drums) and Grayson Fiske (vibraphone).

Augustus Green never played Guitar for Haunted Summer but did play bass for a few tours and is currently no longer with the project.
Thanks for the update, John.
