Party-starters Moving Units, the long-running dance-punk outfit helmed by songwriter/producer/DJ Blake Miller, will headline the final edition of Chinatown Summer Nights on Aug. 9. Joined in the live lineup now by Mike Delgado. Danny De Leon and Boz, Miller will perform music from last year’s “Neurotic Exotic” (the band’s first album in six years) on the LA Weekly Live Music Stage near Chinatown’s Central Plaza.
The free, all-ages show also features indie blues trio the Peach Kings, fast-rising surf-rockers the New Electric Sound, alt-rockers the Cold & Lovely, electro duo Magic Bronson and retro indie-poppers the Rebel Light. The music starts at 6 p.m.
Chinatown Summer Nights is co-presented by KCRW; Anthony Valadez and Raul Campos will DJ at the dance stage on Aug. 9. there is also a wealth of family and cultural activities, including art and artisan displays, interactive drawing, a culinary stage, food trucks and a craft beer garden (located opposite the Live Music Stage).
Next up at the venue is the July 12 Chinatown Summer Nights, featuring Madi Diaz, Afternoons, Eastern Conference Champions, Francisco the Man, Black Apples and Wet & Reckless. [Full details here.]

Moving Units! Yay. Nice bill. Unfortunately, I don’t think Magic Bronson will ever live up to my expectations: Kevin pulling rabbits out of hats or levitating buzzbands staff.
I am not related to Magic Bronson, but I love their latest two singles here.
