It’s Friday and you deserve some fresh indie pop. Enter Mount Saint, the fairly new band whose members include Brittany Tolman (formerly of Imagine Dragons), Drew Beck (Chasing Kings), brothers Clint and Riley Holgate and live drummer Andrew Tolman (also formerly of Imagine Dragons and currently in the Moth & the Flame). They have only one song available online – “Criminal” is built around a fluttering synth line that unfolds into a sensual dance-floor tune. “When you’re feeling like a criminal” sounds like a negative statement, but here it’s something intriguingly seductive along the lines of something being “bad” when it’s sinfully good. A Mount Saint EP release is currently in the works.
