Y’know those emails you dash off at the height of emotion only to think twice and trash them before clicking send? Or those tweets you start at 1 a.m. and thinking better of posting? Los Angeles singer-songwriter Meiko says her new album “Dear You” is full of them – “love letters, pissed-off letters, breakup letters,” all of which she turns to song rather than pass along. As opposed to her aptly named 2012 sophomore album “The Bright Side,” the Georgia-bred artist who paid her dues at the local songwriters’ hot spot the Hotel Café bares her teeth a bit on “Dear You” (due Oct. 14). She’s done that before on occasion, of course, and she has a way of wearing an endearing smile and carrying memorable melodies while wielding lyrical daggers. “Dear You” offers several variations on her hooky pop, including a dalliance with electro and some straight-up folk, with the new single “Be Mine,” which was used to promote a fan-funding campaign for the new album, offering up a good ol’ come-hither confection.
