When the Ocean Blue came back round last year with “Ultramarine” – the Pennsylvania quartet’s first full-length in 14 years – it set plenty of ’90s hearts atwitter. Their jangling guitar-pop and beautiful melancholy found some new fans too, and both constituencies will be happy to learn that the quartet (David Schelzel, Oed Ronne, Bobby Mittan and Peter Anderson) have kept the engine running. A new album “Waterworks” will be out Sept. 23 via Shelflife. It’s a compilation of a now-rare EP by the same title that was released (but just barely) 10 years ago, along with several new songs. Peter Anderson directed the video for the new tune “Can’t Let Go,” a sentiment that longtime fans of the Ocean Blue completely understand.
