Stream: Western Scene, ‘See What You Want To’

Western Scene always had a diverse sound palette. From heavy guitar rock to folk to pop, Tom Pritchard and band co-founder Jason Burkhart knew how to entertain and maintain a listener’s attention for at least three and a half minutes no matter what genre they chose. Following up last year’s single “Same As You,” Western Scene has revealed “See What You Want To.” The new single from their forthcoming sophomore EP is one of more pop-heavy tunes that sounds like it’s taken a vacation somewhere in the tropics and come back with enough vitamin D to last an entire year. Pritchard recently told Pure Volume that he was looking for something to cheer him up, and based on the clap-happy guitar-pop tune, it sounds like he ended up having some fun. Although Burkhart left Western Scene in 2013, Pritchard has welcomed bassist Wyatt Glodell, drummer Richard Kitting and keyboardist Jim Wakefield into the fold. Western Scene’s new EP is slated for a fall release.
