It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Drug Cabin, or so we thought. Since 2012’s self-titled EP featuring tunes “Barracuda” and “Whatever Never,” Nathan Thelen (of Pretty Girls Make Graves and Moonrats) and Marcus Congleton (of Ambulance LTD) have not only released full-length “Wiggle Room” in November but they also previously (albeit quietly) released “Yard Work” back in September. Drug Cabin is now fleshed out by live members Eugene Owens, Sheridan Riley and Frankie Palmer and based on songs like the title track of “Wiggle Room” and the punny “Steely Dad,” it seems they’ve perfected the Laurel Canyon sound filtered for pool parties even further. Cool and breezy with harmonies and electric guitar yet anchored with the immortal pedal steel, Drub Cabin remains delightfully retro yet crisp. Even “Baywatch” from “Yard Work” is a soundtrack to someone holding an ice cold beer in the hot Hollywood Hills.
