L.A. sextet Hunny have unveiled another song from their debut EP, “Pain/Ache/Loving,” which finally arrives Friday, 10 months after their single “Cry for Me” inspired tears of joy among fans looking for some meaty, post-punk-inspired rock. The band — convincingly angst-y frontman Jason Yarger along with Jake Goldstein, Jacob Munk, Gregory Horne, Kevin Grimmett and Joey Anderson — worked with producer Eric Palmquist on the five-song EP. A few bands with similar, ’80s-derived influences became killers last decade with songs that combined pop sensibilities with stadium atmospherics; Hunny’s EP opens the door for that.
