Video: Babes, ‘How Do You Make Love Stop?’

Sibling-fueled quintet Babes released their debut full-length today. It’s titled “Untitled (Five Tears),” and it’s not overgeneralizing to call it 10 heartsick paeans to the paralysis love often induces, done with retro flair and theatrical innocence. Beyond the album, though, the band — Aaron, Zach, and Sarah Rayne Leigh, along with Jeffrey Baird and Bryan Harris — has released some of the most audacious music videos in memory leading up to the release. The latest was the dripping-with-tears (and drenched-in-irony, depending on your P.O.V.) “How Do You Make Love Stop?” It’s another smile-through-your-tears moment from a band that says: “Life is shit and if we all wink and laugh, then we can enjoy the ephemeral moments that bring us pleasure.”
