The bulletin here is that neo-soul trio KING will release their long-awaited debut album “We are KING” on Feb. 5. And it has been quite a wait — the trio of twins Paris and Amber Strother and musical sister Anita Bias originally planned to release the album in 2013, but … patience, patience, we suppose. The album, with its celestial synths and heavenly harmonies, is an almost-all-DIY affair, with the trio writing, producing, singing and playing everything. Longtime fans will note from the tracklist that “We are KING” features extended versions of all three songs originally released on the trio’s 2011 “The Story” single — the title track, “Supernatural” and “Hey.” The latter, on which Pitchfork bestowed best “new” track (ahem, 2011?), is elongated to show off Paris Strother’s glistening production. So it makes for a 6 1/2-minute swoon instead of 4 1/2 minutes. Hey, it’s pretty either way.
