Sara Lov’s “Some Kind of Champion,” released in October, is her third solo album and first in four years, made in meticulous splendor with producer Zac Rae and featuring collaborations with Hauschka, Scott Leahy, Ed Maxwell, Cedric Lemoyne, Jonathan Price and Lov’s former bandmate in Devics, Dustin O’Halloran. The touching video for the song “Sorrow Into Stone,” co-written with Price, reconnects Lov and Italy — where Devics’ brilliant 2003 album “The Stars at Saint Andrea” was written and recorded. The stop-motion video is the work of Frame By Frame Animation Studio in Venice, Italy, and was directed by Solenn Le Marchand. Using puppets, models and intricate sets, it follows the story of a lowly soul who picks up litter at a train station and dreams of something better. Getting on board the locomotive called Life, is turns out, is a good start.
