Twenty years since they broke up after just two albums, Belly will reunite this year for tour dates, first in the U.K. and then in the U.S. The announcement came today, with the additional news that the quartet will release new music in the coming months.

The quartet, known mostly for the swirling 1993 hit “Feed the Tree,” is fronted by Tanya Donnelly, who co-founded Throwing Muses in the 1980s with her stepsister Kristin Hersh and went on to play in the Breeders. Donnelly released four solo albums between 1997 and 2006, and in 2013-14 released a string of five EPs, “The Swan Song Series,” which will be released as a three-CD set in May.

She’ll be joined by Gail Greenwood and brothers Thomas and Chris Gorman.

The statement on the new Belly website added:
