Eight Los Angeles artists convened Wednesday afternoon at the Main II in Austin for Buzz Bands LA’s eighth annual day party, concurrent with the South by Southwest Music Festival.
“Dear Austin, Love L.A.” featured a rapturous afternoon of music, with the Moth & the Flame capping the proceedings with the big rock anthems from their newly released debut album “Young & Unafraid.” Before that Miya Folick played songs off her debut EP and newer, harder material; James Supercave rocked songs from their new debut “Better Strange;” the Soft White Sixties mixed old songs and new to add some rock ’n’ soul swagger; Brian Whelan powered through songs off his forthcoming album “Sugarland;” Feels performed an explosive set comprised of material from their new debut album; up-and-comers Kid Bloom previewed their new indie-rock; and Paul Bergmann kicked off the afternoon the vibrant folk from his EP “Romantic Thoughts.”
The party was co-sponsored by Ilegal Mezcal, sponsor of the weekly music series for emerging artists at Harvard & Stone.
Cheers to everybody who played and attended.
