The Sonics cancel month-long May tour

Seattle garage-rock progenitors the Sonics have canceled a 21-date U.S. tour that would have included a May 19 at L.A.’s Regent Theater because of “circumstances beyond our control,” they said.
The tour — in part to help support the release of the Sonics’ new live album “Live at Easy Street” — was to be presented by Little Steven’s Underground Garage and Sirius XM, and would have included the Woggles and Barrence Whitfield & the Savages. Last year, the influential band released their first studio album in 50 years, “This Is the Sonics.”
A statement from the band read, in part:
“The Sonics regret to inform our fans that The Underground Garage tour is cancelled. We very much were looking forward to spending a month on the road with our brothers in Barrence Whitfield & The Savages and The Woggles but unfortunately this will not be able to happen next month. We greatly appreciate the continued support and encouragement, and will do everything in our power to reschedule performing in your city again soon. Thanks for your understanding, and trust that this was due to circumstances beyond our control.”
To be clear, The Sonics band did not cancel the tour. It took us by surprise, was done without consulting the five of us, and was shocking and very disappointing. In actuality, when we received the notification we were packing and preparing to fly to Philadelphia for rehearsals. We’re hoping that most of the shows on the tour can be rebooked and we can arrive and deliver the kind of show that can always be expected of us.

Noted, and thank you Rob
Would love to see you return to Chicago!
Barrence has a following here, too. Ask about North Side venues, or Thalia Hall.
Heartbroken about this. Missed you in New Haven last time through and have regretted it ever since. Had tix for my 11 yo son and 14 yo daughter who love your music and were as excited as I was to see you. Please come back to New Haven!!
So I just saw the tour got cancel then I saw this that is not. What’s going on? I saw them in San Francisco last year heard they were coming back to The Fillmore.
The tour was cancelled as it was initially booked, but my understanding is that many of the shows are being re-booked.
