Ears Wide Open: Night Talks

The debut single from fledgling quartet Night Talks comes at you like a sleek luxury car, with frontwoman Soraya Sebghati’s resonant, angst-tipped vocals sounding confident enough to handle any stadium. Sebghati and bandmates Jacob Butler and Josh and Cris Arteaga have completed making a full-length (release details TBA), and “Green,” they say, is “about jealousy, but more so about navigating the person or monster we become when consumed by jealousy.” The foursome cites Radiohead and the Killers as big influences, but the big, polished sound and twinkling atmospherics here might suggest other alt-rockers, like Sarah McLachlan fronting Coldplay.
