A bill that truly reflects Los Angeles as a cultural melting pot — including Rocky Dawuni, Jenny O., Kotolan and the Echo Park Project — will provide the musical fireworks at the fourth annual 4th of July Block Party at downtown’s Grand Park and the Music Center.
The free, all-ages (and alcohol-free) event will take place from 2 to 9:30 p.m. over the five-block span of Grand Park between City Hall and the Music Center, capped by a fireworks display. There also will be an area dedicated for children to play, as well as food vendors.
The party features three stages of music. Here are the lineups:
Fireworks Stage (on the Music Center plaza between Hope Street and Grand Avenue): Hosted by comedian and actor Mario Hernandez, it features Jenny O., Kotolan, 108 Hill (making their live debut), Dexter Story’s Wondem and the Echo Park Project.
Grand Park’s Performance Lawn (between Grand Avenue and Hill Street): Hosted by comic Kristin Rand, it features Rocky Dawuni, Afro Funke and La Junta.
The Event Lawn (at the foot of City Hall): DJs sets from Francesca Harding and Ericalandia, and KCRW’s Chris Douridas.
