Music videos of people actually playing music can be as exciting as watching a lawn die under the brutal summer sun. Not so with the visuals for Sin Fin’s “Free.” Warmly lit and beautifully edited by director John Pingry, “Free” depicts the L.A. ambient rock trio being the song — a stunning, 7-minute excursion into the soundscapism made by bassist Mandy Sewall, guitarist Polo Quintero and drummer Tom King. “Free” appeared on last year’s Sin Fin EP, “Volver,” and fans of rock-as-cinema could do no better than immerse themselves in the trio’s evocative, often chilling compositions.
