Indie-folk quartet Heaps n H Heaps combine the talents of three Utah natives — Zach Moon, John Pruitt and Dan Dowsett — with Australian songstress Alisa Fedele, whom the trio met upon moving to L.A. They released two EPs, the last “Like No One’s Around” in 2014, and followed it with a live album recorded at the Village (some of which you can sample here). With an ear toward expanding their palette, the foursome traveled to Australia to do some recording with producer Craig Wilson, and the new single “New Heart” is one of the results. Incorporating some subtle electronic textures, it’s an evocative vocal conversation between Moon and Fedele that fades into a dream about the 3-minute mark. Earlier this year, the quartet released a song made with engineer (and another Salt Lake City ex-pat) Eric Glauser at Hyde Park Studios in San Francisco, “Holy Things.” Sophie Webb’s video for the song is a different kind of conversation, the dinner-table kind.
