Stream: VEERS, ‘Reflector’

L.A. quartet VEERS debuted last month with Brobdingnagian single “Invader,” a welcome plate of their self-described “California spacerock” that supplies more sustenance than a festival full of garage-rockers. The band — London-reared singer-guitarist Andrew James, with guitarist Sam Woodbury, bassist Roland LeFox and drummer Tommy Roslak — has been hard at work on their debut release, and “Reflector” is an equally hearty second helping. Rooted in “Revolver”-era Beatles, the way some of the Britpop bands of the ’90s did it, it’s a rocket ride with a backbeat. The song is on VEERS’ self-titled EP, out this week. The only lament might be that, at four songs, it’s not long enough.
Director Jared Tate Johnson’s video for the song features Daniel Molayem, Malena Morgan and Chelsea Conrad and follows a man on a very, very strange trip indeed.
