Miranda Lee Richards’ “Echoes of Dreamtime,” released in January, was the singer-songwriter-folk angel’s first album in seven years, a finely crafted, transcendent work of psychedelic Americana. Richards’ 12-string magic is sprinkled throughout the album, including “Colours So Fine,” a track that doubles the pleasure, since Rick Parker, the album’s producer and her husband, adds 12-string electric. It’s music for long walks in nature and skygazing, captured beautifully in the video by photographer/director Piper Ferguson. The theme of oneness in earth, body and mind reverberate throughout, but there is perhaps no better life advice than the song’s opening line: “See yourself as a child bathed in golden light.”
