“I’ll be waiting on the other side,” Saro sings in “Flora,” one of the songs on his debut EP, “In Loving Memory.” It’s a chilling moment among six songs full of them, inspired as it was by the suicide of a friend in 2014. Saro — the L.A. native Evan Windom who formerly went by Evan Mellows — works through his grief and comes out on that other side, flowers in arms, catharsis achieved. The songs were produced David Burris and executive-produced by Robin Hannibal, and the poignant video, directed by Stormi Bree Henley, features Leila Miller. If not for the song’s unfolding exuberant vibe, you might need a Kleenex.
