Ears Wide Open: Lost Beach

Lost Beach combines the talents of native Texan Jonny Perdue and guitarist Steve Stout — the pair met while playing in bands with Driscoll siblings Bruce (Freedom Fry) and Erica (Blondfire) — along with bassist Zacc West, drummer Davey Latter and keyboardist Davey Allen. The quintet’s scratchy indie-rock may or may not reference the surf implied by the band’s name; if so, there’s certainly sand between this music’s toes. Lost Beach’s self-produced EP “Nightbreak,” released Feb. 24, offers five songs for long rides home and/or squinting into the sun. There’s not a lot of deceit in the single “Famous for Foolin,” just a bluesy plea to know what you really want.
