After dalliances as/with Crown Plaza, Nectarines and GNTLMN, the prolific Nima Kazerouni has returned to the prime directive: His garage-pop quartet So Many Wizards will release the new album “Heavy Vision” — their first full-length since 2012 — in April.

Informed, Kazerouni says, by the passing of a family member and a close friend, plus the end of an eight-year relationship, the kaleidoscopic “Heavy Vision” finds the quartet (Kazerouni, Erik Felix, Martin Roark and Devin Ratliff) back in their caffeinated glory. Their music dreams at punk-rock tempos, and on the album’s lead track “Sic Boys” Kazerouni’s voice reaches his typical higher elevations, agitated as he declares “I try to keep it together / I’m falling apart.” “Heavy Vision” will be out April 14 via Lolipop Records.
